Antique French Bronze Portrait Trinket or Jewelry Box Casket All Original

  

From a recent estate sale here in the Dallas area, here's a beautiful ormolu jewelry casket or trinket box from France with a hand painted porcelain portrait on the lid. The round center medallion is a lovely portrait of a young lady in a pale red dress with fancy hat. She is holding a flower or rose in one hand. I don't see a signature on the portrait, but it is very well done.

The casket has elegant classical details around the edge. The hinge is in excellent condition.

The interior has its original velvet. The box measures about 3½ inches square and about 1 inches tall. The center portrait measures about 2 inches in diameter. It weighs 8 ounces before packaging. This piece is in excellent condition with no damage to the bronze or nicks to the portrait.
