ALL ORIGINAL Seiko 6139 6002 Pogue RESIST Vintage Automatic Chronograph

  

This watch is in exceptional condition and is an all original example as it left the factory and has no aftermarket parts fitted. The iconic Sodium Yellow "RESIST" Dial is beautiful, Manufactured in the Suwa Seiko Factory July 1971 with the original box. It runs and operates just how it looks, perfectly.

This is a one off in this condition with original box which is also in superb condition. Seiko 6139 6002 aka "Pogue", Seriel number 174661, 6139B 17 Jewel movement English/French Day wheel, these original watches are very hard to find especially in this condition. Most are made up from cheap after-market parts and are passed off as "original". The lume (Glow in the dark white coating to the hour indicies and hands) is bright and white showing no signs of damp or water ingress (it turns black or grey after any moisture has been present). It has a good power reserve. The case still has superb sharp factory lines and finish has not been machine polished keeping its value. The service history is unknown it looks untouched and keeps very good time with no issues. Bracelet is the original slim H link Seiko (the early watches had a more or less, straight bracelet) the clasp which is strong and secure it will fit about 20cm wrist and has 5 removable links.

This also has the folded end links which are only on early watches. Why call it a "Pogue"?

Please do your own research using Youtube and watch forums as they are great tools for looking up the finer details on any vintage watch. I call it a "Sodium Yellow Dial" (the clolour of sodium yellow street lights).

The colour of the Yellow seems to mostly (but not always) get more Orange to it the younger a watch gets, so a 1975 watch the "Yellow" becomes more "Amber Yellow" with more red in it, I feel this is due to pigment in the Laquer changing at the factory over the years.
